who am I?

My name is Laney…….although I would love for my life to be more serene, for right now it’s a little more full of whimsy….I am working on a balance.

I’m a 40 yr old mom to a beautiful and bright, 4 year old. I’m married to a great guy who is the techno savvy person in our family. We live in the Midwest. I love to create and really feel inspired by all those bloggers who are busy creating and sharing with the rest of us. I enjoy quilting and rughooking, and those are my most recent hobbies. I have been lucky enough to have dabbled in jewelry making, pottery, photography and drawing. Just wish I had more TIME!

Lend yourself to others, but give yourself to yourself.

Hey Laney, so you are taking the big plunge into a Etsy store! Here are the things I do to sell. 1.) Have lots in stock 2.) relist items several times a day 3.) Have a blog (check, done) 4.)be active at sites like Crafters and Flickr. I have sold several items to Flickr buddies. 5.) always carry some sort of business card, postcards, etc. and hand them out. 6.) Be a good craft buddy. Help and encourage all fellow crafters.
I am not rich, but I am slowly bringing in more support for my family.

    Hi Laney,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog and the advice about Etsy. I’d never heard of Etsy so I checked out the site. I like the concept very much and will definitely be following it up. I like your post about the Star of the tarot cards. Wishing you well.

    Hi Laney –
Thanks for the comment on my blog. Made my day, really.
Seems we have a lot in common. I’m a 41 year old woman with a 4 year old and not enough time to make the things that that I see in my head….It’s tough. And then add that balance of keeping up with old friends and trying to make new ones (put so beautifully in your blog entry). Life is such a beautiful thing…it’s a shame all this work has to get in the way!
Thanks for reaching out. It really meant a lot.
