tote

made a tote to sell in a local shop. I have had some great advice from co-workers and a friend I met through etsy.   www.sewsewsuckurtoe.etsy.com      Erin has some great things for sale in her shop and she is just plain nice.

this has been a fun piece to work on. It reminds me of Gee’s Bend quilts…can you tell I like those quilts? Beautiful works of art made from necessity and thrift.

i made a quilt of old jeans legs and other stuff. then i found out about Gee’s Bend quilts (I bought a giant book!) and my quilt kind of has that look about it. Like you said, from necessity and thrift…….

oh, i do like this one. the pieced strips up the back make me think of pulling up another chair to the table, of adding water to the soup. the little patch in the lower right hand corner of the back makes me think of mended, always an indication of love.

    necessity. thrift. resourcefulness. enough.
